On your device
PaperLock processes PDFs locally. The app has no accounts, document uploads, analytics, advertising, tracking SDKs, or publisher-operated document servers. Your PDFs, filenames, passwords, signatures, and document activity are not sent to us through the app.
Imported PDFs and saved signatures use iOS file protection and are excluded from backup. Export copies you need before deleting the app, reinstalling, or replacing your device. Purchase restoration does not recover deleted documents. Deleting local files does not remove source or exported copies, and is not guaranteed forensic erasure.
PDF passwords stay in memory for the relevant edit and are not saved or recoverable. Saved signatures remain locally for reuse until deleted; deleting saved ink does not remove it from previously signed PDFs.
Camera and selected photos
With your permission, PaperLock uses the camera to scan documents. You can also choose individual pictures through Apple’s photo picker without giving PaperLock access to your full photo library. Pictures are processed on your device and saved as PDFs in the private library. PaperLock does not upload them or automatically save camera scans to Photos. Photos stored in iCloud may need to download before selection completes.
Services you choose
Files providers, including iCloud Drive, may download selected inputs. Export destinations receive the copies you choose to share and handle them independently. Temporary export copies are cleaned up after sharing and at next launch.
Apple handles purchases and verified transaction status; purchases, restores, and updates may need internet access. We do not receive payment-card details. Preferences and the complimentary-result counter stay locally. Apple’s platform diagnostics follow your device settings.
If you email support, we receive the message and contact details you provide to respond. Your email provider and website host may process their own service information; this policy describes the app. Contact support@paperlock.world for privacy questions. We will update this page when practices change.
